Get The Right Mattress from Simply Beds
How can you choose the right mattress without paying too much?
Anyone shopping for a new mattress will quickly notice that there are more mattresses to choose from than ever before. There are so many options. There are so many people selling mattresses online. There are mattresses made out of just memory foam or latex and then there are spring mattresses. Memory foam mattresses are big at the moment as they are compressed down to fit in a box to save on transport costs. The people selling these mattresses also promote the fact that these mattresses contour to our body and give you relief on your pressure points. A study conducted has found that the consumers main complaint about these mattresses is that they sleep hot. A mattress made out of only foam may not be best suited for Queensland weather. Then there are pocket coil mattresses compressed in a box as well nowadays. It can be quite daunting and frustrating to choose a new mattress. All the mattresses feel similar when you lay on them. Most mattresses feel similar when they are new. It’s only after constant use you really know whether the mattress you got is the right one or not.
We are going to make it easier for you to choose the right mattress by putting them in six different ranges. Each range has different types of mattresses. The difference can be the springs used, the amount of padding on top of the springs for your comfort level and the quality of the padding used. As a general rule, the cheaper a mattress is, the lower the density of the foam used in the padding.
Mattress manufacturers have a habit of putting names on the mattresses that start with Chiro, Spinal, Lumbar and so on. Please don’t be fooled by this tactic and think that a particular mattress has any special support structure just because the name starts with Chiro.
Most of the mattresses have springs, foam, latex, polyester and wool. The foam comes in all sorts of grades and densities. As I mentioned most mattresses start with springs. Then different layers of padding are put on the springs for comfort. In very simply terms, the more padding you put on the springs the dearer a mattress will get. As foam comes in different densities and grades, higher density foam will be dearer than lower density. Depending on the price of a mattress, it may have standard or memory foam. In some cases it may have gel foam. Gel infused foam is supposed to be cooler. You can also invest in a mattress that has wool in the pillow top for a number of reasons. The wool is extremely effective when it comes to keeping you cool. It’s breathable and natural. It does a great job of absorbing moisture and regulating temperature. You can also sleep in wool bedding such as duvets and pillows. All of the wool will help keep moisture away, helping you to feel less clammy and hot.
We have listed the mattresses here and made it easier for you to compare so that you can choose the right mattress without paying too much. It makes a big difference on who you are buying the new mattress for. Whether it is for a spare room mattress or everyday use. A mattress for the kids may be different than the one for yourselves. The list in each category gives you information on what’s inside each mattress. This will help you choose the right mattress, making sure you choose something that’s suitable for whoever you’re buying for.

Favourites Range
Our Favourites range is focused on customers looking for a premium mattress within a reasonable price range. This range is our biggest seller as you receive more mattress for your dollar.
Support
The mattresses are structured using either the Bonnell spring system or the Pocket spring system. The Bonnell spring system is a firmer style system that has been used in Australia for more than 100 years. The underlying firmness assists in keeping the body straight, while its 3 zones help to alleviate pressure points, such as the hips and shoulders. To further reinforce the sides, edge-wire and butterfly edge supports are added increasing the durability of the spring system and avoiding the sides of the mattress to collapse.
The Pocket Springs are individually pocketed springs. They are preferable if you like a softer feel mattress and also if you share the mattress with a partner. Partner disturbance is greatly minimized with this spring system. You can enjoy a good night’s sleep even if your partner is tossing and turning. To ensure the sides are supported in our pocket spring mattresses, we add a foam box around the entire perimeter of the mattress. Essentially, this secures all the springs and protects the mattress from collapsing on the sides.
In many inferior products, these are the unseen extras that sets us apart.

Elite Range
At the top of our castle, sits the Elite Range. This range is comprised of a select trio of mattresses which are the essence of luxury. A master-stroke of impeccable structure and pure indulgence.
Support
This range features Pocket Springs which are individually segmented springs, singularly placed to form the base structure of the mattress. The springs are then supported on the edge by an encased foam box, which is a high quality, high density foam. The thickness of ours (80mm) is double that of most mattresses found on the market. The reason for our generous foam box is to ensure that our customers maximise the use of their mattress right to the edges, without feeling as though they will roll off.
To support this solid structure is our zoning technology. The thickness of the pocket springs varies according to each zone. So, how this works is that the heaviest parts of our body fall into a zone where the springs are thicker – therefore, aligning our hips and shoulders with the rest of our body.
Comfort
Premium quality Australian foam, Gel infused memory foam and natural latex is used to complete the mattresses. The comfort layer on the top can be a combination of the above types of padding. They are combined to articulate mattresses that may be a plush, medium or firm feel. Every person is different in their preference, so we try and cater for all types of comfort levels.
Our padding has been treated to control the emergence of dust-mites, bacteria, mould or mildew.
Warranty
Our Elite range comes with a 10 year warranty.

Natural Latex Range
Our Natural Latex range of mattresses are derived from a natural plant material. They are 100% latex, and more importantly contain ZERO fillers.
Support
Being a natural product, latex does not produce or retain heat. The latex is derived from plant material and it features pin cores for air circulation. Special firm latex is used on the perimeter of the mattress to provide side supports. As a result of the high density of the latex, it boasts hard wearing qualities.
Comfort
The latex mattress provides a low-pressure sleep system, meaning the body is not pushed up like in spring mattresses. The body weight is supported by the high density of the latex. It naturally contours around the arches of your body, relieving pressure points such as the hips and shoulders.
Because these mattresses do not have springs, there is minimal partner disturbance which is an added bonus.
Natural latex is also resistant to dust-mites, bacteria and mildew and coupled with its own antiseptic properties, make it a healthy sleep surface.
These mattresses provide superior comfort and support while also providing great value for money.
Warranty
These latex mattresses come with a 10 year warranty.

Boxed To Go Range
When you look at mattresses nowadays, there are so many options. One of the options are mattresses in a box. You might ask questions like:
Are boxed mattresses any good and which boxed mattress is the best? Let me explain this by providing some information to you and you can be the judge. Boxed mattresses are generally made from foam or pocket coils or combination of both. These mattresses once fully made are compressed and rolled up in a box for ease of transportation.
Boxed mattresses increased in popularity in recent years. Majority of the sellers of boxed mattresses don’t have a retail stores where you can try the mattress. We would always suggest to try a mattress before you buy it.
Most of the foam boxed mattresses are made in layers. You may have three different layers which are generally firm on the bottom, medium in the middle and soft on top. In theory we don’t believe there is anything wrong in this set up but would suggest to consider heat issues in a foam mattress especially here in South East Queensland. Nearly all of these mattresses in a box are made in China.
The other thing to consider in boxed mattresses that are the ones made from pocket coil is the side support. As they are rolled up the springs tend to have very little side supports which means the mattress will probably collapse under your body weight especially when you are sitting on the edge of the mattress.
In saying all this we also have a range of mattresses in a box. Most of our mattresses in a box are under $800 in queen size. We believe there is room for these mattresses in box but they should be on the budget rather than premium end. Australian made mattresses are definitely better.
As easy as putting a box in your car. From 6 styles to choose from, our Boxed to Go range is convenient and great value for money.
Support
These mattresses are built with pocket springs and depending on which one you choose, have zoning technology of up to 7 zones. The Pocket spring system is a proven system which has been used in mattresses for years. It is perfect for keeping your body aligned and limiting partner disturbance.
Comfort
Our Boxed to Go range offer a soft plush to medium feel mattress. The comfort layers in the mattresses are either made of premium, memory and soft gel foam or latex with the advantage of non-flip technology. A high-quality knitted fabric and soft quilting finishes of the comfort layer to result in medium to soft feel.
Warranty
This range comes with a 5 year warranty.
